The major impurities in ferrous scrap are: tin, copper and lead. Undesirable elements such as copper, lead, and tin are extremely difficult to remove and seperate.
Non-ferrous Scrap
Non-ferrous metals are those that contain little or no iron. They include titanium, aluminum; copper; lead; zinc; precious metals such as gold, silver and special alloys, which are made of a combination of two or three metals such as brass, made of copper and zinc, and bronze, a blend of copper, tin and zinc.
